Disposable mixing elements are well proved for many years to mix components of adhesives. However, limits are quickly reached if the ratio of the viscosities rises. Only steel mixers can cope with these tasks. The mixer types CSE, CSE-W and CSE-X from Fluitec are three attractive solutions with advantages such as easy cleaning, short mixer length, high mixing performance and low price.
CSE-W mixers are still widely used in adhesive processes. However, up to 24 to 50 mixing elements are needed if the ratio of the flow rates succeeds 10 : 1 or if the difference of the viscosities rises. Such long mixing elements are difficult in handling, mounting and cleaning. CSE-X mixers are a very attractive solution for this problem. They are very rigid and the mixing performance is 2 to 3 times higher than of the CSE-W mixers. The mixers length is therefore reduced by a factor of about two.
